Hoppy times

Bass Pro Shops (Denver) and Cabela’s (Lone Tree and Thornton) are hopping with family fun this weekend. Kids can get a 4×6 photo taken with the Easter Bunny at no cost (with the option to upgrade to a photo package at an additional cost of $12 to $17). The photos are available April 2-4, from 2 to 6 p.m. on Friday; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday; and 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Easter Sunday. Safety precautions in place, including plexiglass between Mr. Bunny and the little ones. For added safety, online reservations are required for all locations. basspro.com/shop/en/easter

Tacos for two

What’s better than one Taco Night a week? Two, of course. Del Taco is making it less expensive to enjoy tacos twice a week with Taco Tuesdays and Taco Thursdays, from 3 to 11 p.m. each day. (Many locations offer the savings all day, so double-check with your neighborhood location.) On Tuesdays, get three Value Tacos for $1.49; on Thursdays, enjoy three grilled chicken Tacos for $2.49. That makes the tacos just 49 and 83 cents, respectively. With no limit, family and friends can definitely enjoy a frugal fiesta. deltaco.com/specials

Blockbuster prices

After a long hiatus, movie lovers are hoping to get back to theaters as the pandemic eases. To get things rolling again, Harkins Theatres is bringing back pop-culture favorites with its Blockbuster Bring Backs series. It’s the perfect opportunity to experience a favorite flick the way it was meant to be seen: on the big screen. Now through July 1, fans can enjoy classic, action-packed movies for only $5 per film. Each week, the highlighted movie plays from Friday to the following Thursday. Showtimes vary, but there are two screenings each day — one in the afternoon and a second in the evening. Among the series highlights are “Jurassic Park,” “Jaws,” “Back to The Future” and “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” In addition, My Harkins Awards members receive a $5 Bonus Award when they see five different movies in the series. Harkins has two Colorado locations: Arvada and Denver. harkins.com/blockbusters

Helping hands

Colorado is most definitely eager for spring, and families are looking to emerge from winter hibernation. And Lowe’s is on board with its month-long SpringFest celebration. The giveaway schedule: April 8,  Garden-To-Go kits; April 15, Mystery Garden Pinata; April 22, tree saplings; and April 29, Butterfly Quest. Reservations are required one week prior to each distribution date at lowes.com. Award-winning

The envelope, please. Even though “going to the movies” was much different in 2020, that doesn’t mean there weren’t any quality films. Film fanatics just had to do a little extra work to find them. Cinemark is making it easier for movie lovers to check out all of the Best Picture nominees on the cheap. From April 19 to 25, the theater chain is hosting its Oscar Movie Week 2021 with nominees on the big screen. Tickets are only $5 each and can be purchased online or at a participating box office. Films being screened include: “Judas and the Black Messiah”, “Mank”, “Minari”, “Nomadland”, “Promising Young Woman”, “Sound of Metal”, “The Father” and “The Trial of The Chicago 7.” There are participating theaters in Boulder, Lakewood, Fort Collins and Colorado Springs (2). cinemark.com/movieweek

Signed, sealed and delivered

Got your coronavirus vaccine? Now, you need to protect that all-important document that proves it. Your completed COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card could be the passport to summer fun, including traveling. (It’s expected that you may need to show the card for entry at many places or events in the coming months.) Both Office Depot and Staples are offering to laminate cards at no cost; just visit their service desks. Office Depot will protect cards through July 25 with promo code 52516714. There is no expiration date at Staples, but you must use coupon code 81450. Do not laminate your card until you have received your second shot, unless you get the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. The CDC advises all vaccine recipients to keep their cards, in case they’re needed for future use. The agency also suggests taking a picture of your vaccination card as a backup. officedepot.com; staples.com

Donuts, donuts, donuts!

The weekly giveaway runs to May 24. Customers who show a valid COVID-19 vaccination card get a free Original Glazed donut every day for the rest of 2021. There are two Colorado locations: Lone Tree and Thornton. krispykreme.com/promos/sweetsupport

Tacos loaded

Taco Bell is stepping up to the plate again for the 2021 baseball season. The day following a game in which the Colorado Rockies score seven or more runs (win or lose), fans score four regular crunchy tacos for $2 between 4 and 6 p.m. and Taco Bell will make a $250 donation to the Food Bank of the Rockies. During the regular season, the offer is valid at participating locations in the Denver metro area — in-restaurant or at the drive-thru. Customers must be present to get the deal. The promo overlaps with the fast-food chain’s daily Happy Hour from 2 to 5 p.m. From 4 to 5 p.m., customers may also get a medium drink for $1. With so many games, there will be plenty of opportunities to make a taco run this summer. tacobell.com
